Project Overview

This project encompassed a series of training sessions strategically designed and facilitated to assist subject matter experts and trainers in transitioning to the online learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the pandemic began to impact businesses worldwide, a dedicated task force was formed within Temple University. This collaborative effort resulted in the development of a comprehensive strategy aimed at enabling subject matter experts to seamlessly pivot from in-person to online learning.

As a lead in the design and development of the training sessions, as well as one of the main facilitators, the project covered critical topics including:

  • Delivering lectures online,

  • Course design,

  • Online discussions and group work,

  • Creating online communities, and

  • Fostering collaborative learning in the online space.

Target Audience

The target audience for this project includes subject matter experts, educators, and trainers who found themselves in the position of needing to transition their in-person instruction to the online realm due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These professionals sought guidance and expertise in adapting their teaching methods to the online learning environment.

Results

  • Engagement of thousands of participants from Temple University, spanning across various locations including the United States, Tokyo, and Rome.

  • Successful adaptation of subject matter experts and trainers to the online learning environment, enabling them to continue their educational endeavors during the challenging times brought about by COVID-19.

  • Enhanced instructional quality and expertise in online delivery, benefiting learners and educators alike.

  • Creation of a global online learning community, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing across borders and disciplines.

  • Empowerment of SMEs to effectively navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic, ensuring the continuity of quality education.
