Infection Control Training
Project Overview
This project is an eLearning module designed to educate healthcare professionals on best practices for infection control. Infection control is critical to prevent the spread of diseases in healthcare settings and ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare workers.
Role
Instructional design, script/storyboard, visual design, eLearning development
Target Audience
Healthcare professionals working in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.
Tools Used
Articulate Storyline 360, Canva, Google docs
The Problem
Inadequate infection control practices in healthcare settings can lead to the spread of infectious diseases, putting patients, healthcare workers, and the community at risk. It is essential for healthcare professionals to receive comprehensive training on infection control measures to minimize these risks effectively.
The Solution
The solution is to create an engaging and interactive eLearning module that healthcare professionals can complete at their own pace. The module will cover topics including hand hygiene as well as personal protective equipment (PPE) use. By providing a realistic and immersive training experience, healthcare professionals can better understand and apply infection control principles.
The Process
Text-based Storyboard
The project begins with a detailed storyboard that outlines the structure of the eLearning module. This includes defining learning objectives, content organization, and the flow of information. The storyboard serves as a guide for the entire development process.

Visual Design
Visual Design: Elements, such as images, icons, and characters were designed to enhance the module's visual appeal. Canva and the built-in visuals in Storyline were used to create graphics. Selected images represent a healthcare facility, with the main character portrayed as a healthcare professional.

Interactive Prototype
An interactive prototype was created to simulate the user experience within the eLearning module. Tools like interactive scenarios are developed to engage learners and allow them to make decisions related to the application of infection control practices. This prototype helps in refining both interactivity and the user experience.

Articulate Storyline Development
The eLearning module is developed using Articulate Storyline 360. During the development process, I tested the functionality very often to ensure a seamless experience.

Results
This infection control training module emphasizes the significance of proper infection control practices in healthcare settings and the role of training in ensuring the safety of both patients and healthcare workers.
